Qcells announced it will offer new versions of its residential solar panels that feature aluminum frames extruded, anodized and fabricated in Tennessee.
Qcells will offer domestic-frame options for its Q.TRON AC and Q.PEAK DUO AC panels in the United States. The frames will help meet minimum domestic content requirements for certain third-party owned solar projects.
“Qcells is committed to investing in American-made clean energy products and in the domestic supply chain behind them,” said Il Hyeong No, Head of Qcells North America’s Residential Business. “Through this partnership to produce modules with domestic frames, we are furthering our commitment to U.S. manufacturing, supporting clean, affordable energy and giving our customers the certainty they need to qualify projects for the domestic content bonus.”
The frames are produced in partnership with ALUKO Group which performs extrusion, anodizing and fabrication at its manufacturing facility in Halls, Tennessee. The facility is expected to begin full production by the end of 2026, with a planned annual capacity to produce enough frames to support 4 GW of solar panels. ALUKO plans to create 285 new full-time jobs and invest more than $107 million in Tennessee within five years.
