Germany’s Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) awarded 288 MW of PV capacity spread across 143 projects in its latest auction for PV systems on buildings and noise barriers.
A total of 177 bids totaling 347 MW were submitted. The agency excluded 34 bids totaling 58 MW from the award process, although it did not disclose the specific reasons. According to the authority’s website, unsuccessful bidders will be informed directly about the reasons their bids were rejected.
The submitted capacity increased significantly compared with the previous round in July, when bids totaled just 296 MW.
The Bundesnetzagentur said awarded prices ranged from €0.10 ($0.11)/kWh to €0.085/kWh. The volume-weighted average award price stood at €0.0967/kWh, remaining just below the maximum permitted level of €0.10/kWh. It was also higher than in the July tender, when the average award price was €0.0972/kWh.
North Rhine-Westphalia secured the largest share of contracts for the new rooftop PV systems, with 38 projects totaling 66 MW. It was followed Hessen with 11 bids with a combined capacity of 30 MW, Brandenburg with 14 bids equaling 28 MW and Lower Saxony with 16 bids with an aggregate power of 27 MW.
