HKMA schedules RMB750 million reopening of HKSAR bond issue

HKMA will reopen issue 03GB2807001 on Oct. 22, offering RMB750 million of HKSAR institutional bonds due July 28, 2028.

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority said it will reopen an existing renminbi-denominated HKSAR institutional government bond issue on 22 October 2026, offering an additional RMB0.75 billion through competitive tender. The sale matters because the reopened bonds are fully fungible with the existing listed issue, extending supply under the Infrastructure Bond Programme rather than creating a new line.

According to the HKMA notice published on 15 October 2026, the tender will reopen issue 03GB2807001, stock code 85039, with settlement set for 26 October 2026. The bond will mature on 28 July 2028 and carries a coupon of 1.59% per annum, paid semi-annually in arrear. The authority described the security as a 2-year RMB HKSAR institutional government bond with approximately 1.76 years remaining to maturity.

The indicative pricing on 15 October 2026 was 100.27 per RMB100 nominal, with a semi-annualised yield of 1.435%, the HKMA said. The notice also specified accrued interest of RMB196.03 per minimum denomination of RMB50,000 payable by successful bidders on the issue date, subject to rounding for larger tender amounts.

The tender is open only to Primary Dealers appointed under the Infrastructure Bond Programme. Other investors wishing to participate must apply through a Primary Dealer on the latest published list, the HKMA said. Each competitive tender must be for RMB50,000 or an integral multiple of that amount. Tender results are expected to be published no later than 3:00 pm on the tender day on the HKMA and Hong Kong Government Bonds websites, as well as on Bloomberg and Refinitiv.
