Whizzo To Raise $26 Mn From Aavishkaar Capital, Bertelsmann

Bengaluru-based Whizzo is in talks to raise around $26 Mn in its Series B funding round which could be co-led by Aavishkaar Capital and Bertelsmann Investments (BI), Inc42 learnt.

As per sources, existing backers Fundamentum, Lightspeed Ventures, among others, are also likely to participate in the round.

Questions sent to Whizzo didn’t elicit any response at the time of publication of the story. The article will be updated based on their responses.

The fresh round of funding comes almost six months after the startup raised around $15 Mn in its Series A funding round led by Fundamentum, with participation from Korean investor LB Investment Fund, and Lightspeed. Back then, the startup said it would utilise the funds for strengthening research and development of in-house IP for materials science innovation. Prior to this, Lightspeed Ventures led Whizzo’s seed round in 2025.

The Bengaluru-based startup raised its maiden institutional funding round in January 2025 to develop its advanced R&D capabilities, creation of a design lab for fashion-engineered textiles and the expansion of its supply chain.

Founded in 2024 by Shrestha Kukreja, Whizzo is a CDMO (contract development and manufacturing organisation) that offers textile design services and textile research & development services to clients across India, Vietnam, China and Bangladesh.

The startup integrates R&D, formulation, prototyping, process engineering, and commercial-scale manufacturing under one roof.

Whizzo works with B2B manufacturers and produces a wide range of materials for applications across geotextiles, agriculture textiles, protective and flame-retardant materials, specialty yarns, engineered apparel textiles, and industrial composites.
