The Jürgen Klopp era gets underway for the Mannschaft with a tricky test in Amsterdam.

Former Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp takes charge of the German national team for the first time on Thursday as they kick off their UEFA Nations League campaign away against neighbors the Netherlands at the Johan Cruijff Arena.

Announced as Germany’s head coach in July following Julian Nagelsmann’s resignation, Klopp’s first job will be to lift the spirits of the Mannschaft after their shock round-of-32 World Cup exit against Paraguay.

The Netherlands also has a new big-name head coach, with Barcelona legend Xavi Hernández taking charge of the Oranje for the first time today, marking the first time a foreign manager has led the Dutch national team in almost 50 years, since Austria’s Ernst Happel.

The Netherlands hosts Germany at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam on Thursday, Sept. 24. Kickoff is set for 8:45 p.m. CET local time in the Netherlands, making it a 7:45 p.m. BST start in the UK, a 2:45 p.m. ET or 11:45 a.m. PT kickoff in the US and Canada and a 4:45 a.m. AEST start on Friday in Australia.
