Kimi Antonelli could seal the title as the season moves to Austin.
After an extended stint in Asia, we’re now into the home stretch of the 2026 Formula One season as the drivers head to Texas for the United States Grand Prix, with a maiden Drivers’ Championship in Kimi Antonelli’s sights.
A third-place finish last time out at the Singapore GP a fortnight ago means Antonelli now boasts a comfortable 102-point lead over his Mercedes teammate George Russell with just six races of the campaign left. Russell could only muster a ninth-place finish in Singapore after starting at the back of the grid, while Ferrari star Lewis Hamilton also saw his outside hopes of the title dwindle with a frustrating sixth-place finish.
Those results mean Antonelli could clinch his maiden world title this weekend if he wins Sunday’s race, Russell finishes ninth or lower, and Hamilton fifth or lower.
