It's a crucial Pennines derby for under-pressure Red Devils boss Michael Carrick.
Leeds will look to crank up the heat on beleaguered Man United boss Michael Carrick on Sunday as both teams go in search of a much-needed English Premier League win in what looks set to be a Pennines derby with an added edge.
The Red Devils enter today’s latest installment of the War of the Roses off the back of a damaging midweek defeat and seeming unrest between United’s hierarchy and its players. Last weekend’s disappointing EPL draw at home to struggling Spurs was followed by a 2-0 UEFA Champions League loss away to Atlético Madrid on Wednesday — a defeat that prompted defender Lisandro Martínez to issue a scathing attack on the club’s board for not strengthening the squad during the summer.
The hosts, meanwhile, remain on a remarkable run of home form, unbeaten at Elland Road since March. Coming into the weekend’s action in seventh, Daniel Farke’s team will be looking to bounce back after suffering its first loss of the season in last Saturday’s 2-1 defeat away to Arsenal.
Leeds United takes on Manchester United on Sunday, Oct. 18, at Elland Road, with kickoff set for 2 p.m. BST. That makes it a 9 a.m. ET or 6 a.m. PT start in the US and Canada, and a 12 midnight AEDT kickoff in Australia.
Today’s match at Elland Road will be broadcast on USA Network, which you can access on Sling TV and other more expensive streaming TV services, such as YouTube TV or DirecTV MySports.
