Despite the corporate shake-up after Skydance finally acquired Warner Bros., DC Studios co-head honcho Peter Safran assures fans that their projects are still moving forward as planned. Case in point: we finally know who’s gonna star in the upcoming adult-animated series, Mister Miracle. You read the headline; it’s Josh Hutcherson.
Speaking with IGN, Safran gave the lowdown on DC Studios’ animated slate. Key among them is Absolute Batman, which Safran revealed writer Scott Snyder is currently working on the show’s script. While praising Tom King as a co-writer and producer on HBO Max’s Lanterns series, Safran revealed that Hunger Games alum Hutcherson and Terminator: Dark Fate star Mackenzie Davis would star in the Mister Miracle series as Scott Free and Big Barda.
“I think that Tom King really learned a lot in his season of co-creating and executive producing Lanterns and he adapted his book Mister Miracle fully on his own, wrote all eight episodes and I think it’s just dynamite. Josh Hutcherson as Scott Free and Mackenzie Davis as Big Barda,” Safran said. “And I just think it’s a book that I’ve always loved and I remember Tom telling us early on that, every convention he goes to, at least a couple people come up to him and say this book saved my life and I love that we got to tell that story over eight episodes.
