Google Keep update tweaks the homescreen widget on Android

Google Keep for Android has rolled out a small tweak to the “Note collection” widget that shows a feed on your homescreen.

The Material You-era sidebar on the right with shortcuts to add a text note, list, audio, drawing, or photo has been removed. It has been replaced by a circular FAB (floating action button) — like on “Single note” — that opens a pop-up.

Introducing a second tap for note creation, this menu matches the behavior of the smaller, pill-shaped “Quick capture” widget.

As such, there’s now an edge-to-edge design and you get to see a bit more of each note. By comparison, the previous design left considerable empty space, especially if you went for a full-width homescreen layout.

Version 5.26.365.x of Google Keep is rolling out via the Play Store .

This follows the rollout of Keep Live for Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers.
