The Premier League champions head to the Lancashire coast to face the League Two strugglers.
It’s set to be a David vs. Goliath battle at Fleetwood Town’s Highbury Stadium on Tuesday as the League Two minnow hosts English Premier League champion Arsenal in the last 16 of the Carabao Cup.
The host has made a slow start to its campaign in the fourth tier of English football, with a 2-1 defeat away to Exeter City at the weekend its fifth loss of the season. That result left it in 18th position in League Two. The Cod Army have nevertheless fared somewhat better in this tournament, seeing off the likes of Chesterfield and Shrewsbury before a shock win over Championship outfit Sheffield United at home in the third round to set up today’s fixture.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta, meanwhile, looks certain to use this cup clash as an opportunity to blood young talent and give his fringe players some welcome minutes. Cristhian Mosquera, Piero Hincapié, Martín Zubimendi and teenage sensation Max Dowman are all likely to start.
Fleetwood Town takes on Arsenal on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at Highbury Stadium in Lancashire, with kickoff set for 8 p.m. BST. That makes it a 4 p.m. ET or 1 p.m. PT start in the US and Canada and a 7 a.m. AEDT kickoff in Australia on Wednesday morning.
Today’s Carabao Cup clash will be available to stream in the US on Paramount Plus.
Paramount Plus has two plans: Paramount Plus Essential and Paramount Plus Premium.
