Yesterday, Apple released a significant new software update for the iPhone: iOS 27.2 is packed with new features and bug fixes, adding more functionality to your phone.
But the software’s greatest enhancements bring new functionality to the company’s new artificial intelligence chatbot, Siri AI. Here’s what you need to know.
When Apple released iOS 27 last month, it included dozens of improvements to the iPhone’s operating system.
But by far the star feature of iOS 27 was the completely revamped Siri AI. The new chatbot is Apple’s attempt to compete with more entrenched, well-known AI chatbots from OpenAI and Google.
With iOS 27.2, Apple has now added even more functionality to Siri AI. Most notably, Siri AI can now remember past conversations you’ve had with it and remind you of that information, or use it to better answer your queries in a new chat.
Siri AI can now also pull data from a wealth of new sources to better answer your questions and more deeply understand your personal context. Now in iOS 27.2, Siri AI can pull data from your voicemails, Safari browsing history, photo attachments in Messages, Calendar event attendees, and more.
Apple has also added the ability to allow users to copy text from only part of a Siri answer, plus a revamped Settings pane where you can tell Siri to exclude apps as data sources for personal context around you.
2, Siri also expands beyond an English-only chatbot.
