It appears that Apple's "Pro and Tell" event, scheduled for tomorrow, Oct. 28, will be a busy one, as the company keeps launching products before the event even starts.

Yesterday, Apple introduced a new iPad mini; today, it's the new 14-inch MacBook Pro.

The new MacBook Pro looks exactly the same as the last one but comes with Apple's powerful new M6 chip, delivering significant upgrades over last year's M5 chip. The M6 has a 12-core CPU, a 12-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine, delivering up to 30 percent faster graphics and up to 25 percent faster AI workloads compared to M5.

The new MacBook Pro is available with 16, 24, or 32GB of memory, and 1, 2, or 4TB of SSD storage. The display is a 14.2-inch mini-LED Liquid Retina XDR display. In terms of connectivity, you get Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, three Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI port, and an SDXC card slot.

Other highlights include improved battery life with up to 16 hours of web browsing and up to 24 hours of video streaming. The choice of colors is the same as before: Space Black or Silver.

The update doesn't extend to the 16-inch model, which still only comes with an M5 Pro or M5 Max chip, but that one will probably get updated tomorrow.

Pre-orders for the new 14-inch MacBook Pro start tomorrow, Oct. 28, with pricing starting at $1,999. We wouldn't hurry, though; wait till you see what else Apple has in store for the "Pro and Tell" event.
