Apple price drop: Amazon just took $600 off the 2026 MacBook Pro M5 Max

SAVE $600: As of Sept. 23, the Apple MacBook Pro (M5 Max, 36GB RAM, 2TB SSD) is on sale at Amazon for $3,499. That's down 15% from its $4,099 list price.

When Apple refreshed its MacBook lineup, it delivered massive processing power and higher price tags across the board.

The base 14-inch M5 Max model normally costs an eye-watering $4,099 at full retail, making any steep discount worth grabbing immediately. Amazon just knocked $600 off the flagship 14.2-inch MacBook Pro with the M5 Max chip, bringing it down to $3,499.

The standard M5 chip handles daily tasks fine, but the M5 Max is a totally different beast made for heavy lifting. It handles local AI models, complex 3D graphics, and multi-track 8K video editing without breaking a sweat. This setup packs an 18-core CPU and a 32-core GPU with dedicated AI cores built into the graphics chip.

The M5 Max features faster unified memory and upgraded SSD storage that reads and writes up to twice as fast as earlier models. The 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR display pumps out 1,000 nits of sustained brightness and 1,600 nits peak brightness for editing HDR content, backed by a studio-grade six-speaker setup with Spatial Audio and a 12MP Center Stage webcam.

Apple doubled the starting storage for this generation, giving you 36GB of unified memory and a massive 2TB high-speed SSD out of the box. 2-inch Liquid Retina XDR screen, WiFi 7 support, three Thunderbolt 5 ports, and enough power to run up to four external displays at once.
