Healthcare business operations and AI-led technology company Sagility announced its strategic acquisition of Chirok Health , a specialized provider of Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI), medical coding, coding quality assurance (QA), and revenue integrity services.
Carried out through its U.S. operating subsidiary, Sagility (US) Holdings Inc., the transaction is valued at approximately $32.35M. Canaccord Genuity LLC served as the exclusive financial advisor to Chirok Health.
Strengthens Sagility’s provider-focused services platform: complements existing enterprise capabilities across revenue cycle management (RCM) , patient access, predictive analytics, and technology-driven operations with deep domain clinical documentation integrity and coding audits.
Follows Sagility’s recent acquisition of CareSeed, further scaling the company’s ability to optimize inpatient and outpatient reimbursement, advance value-based care (VBC) initiatives, and support Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) risk adjustment.
Sagility—backed by global private equity sponsor EQT and operating a global workforce of nearly 50,000 professionals across the United States, India, the Philippines, Jamaica, and Colombia—has historically maintained a deep payer footprint, serving more than 80 healthcare clients, including seven of the top ten commercial health plans in the United States.
However, hospital systems face severe clinical coding shortages, stringent commercial payer review audits, and persistent margin compression. By acquiring Chirok Health, Sagility integrates a specialized clinical workforce to directly address provider-side documentation vulnerabilities:
Inpatient and Outpatient Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI): Deploys specialized clinical documentation specialists to review concurrent electronic health record charts, query clinicians during active hospital stays, and ensure documentation accurately captures patient severity of illness (SOI) and risk of mortality (ROM).
Medical Coding Quality Assurance & Audits: Implements systematic pre- and post-bill coding audits across complex surgical, inpatient, and ambulatory encounters to eliminate coding discrepancies that generate administrative payer rejections.
