Ubisoft said more Assassin's Creed games are on the way, but don't expect to see remakes like Black Flag Resynced anytime soon.
The publisher behind the history-hopping stealth-action franchise laid all its cards on the table in a lengthy update post yesterday. Considering that this year's Assassin's Creed 4 remake seemed to go off without a hitch when it launched in July, one might assume re-imaginings for other games are on the way – but that is not the case.
When spelling out where Assassin's Creed has been and where it's heading, Ubisoft plainly addressed desires for more re-imaginings in a section called 'What About Other Remakes?' It knows Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced has fans chomping at the bit for more, but it doesn't sound like we'll be getting any more for a very long time.
"One thing we want to be transparent about today is that we currently have no other Assassin's Creed remake actively in development," it said. "Our teams are already focused on the next chapter of Assassin's Creed titles, including projects you haven't heard about yet, featuring new settings and stories."
Why not revisit older games? Black Flag has remained a beloved installment in the franchise even more than a decade after its original release, but fans have continued to clamor to revisit stories from games like the original Assassin's Creed , Assassin's Creed 2 , and Assassin's Creed 3 . As happy with Black Flag Resynced as Ubisoft is, the publisher admitted that returning to the West Indies took more than a little legwork.
