Binance’s target leaves crypto withdrawals pending, while its Japan business confirms that trading and fiat transfers work.
Binance withdrawals remain suspended while deposits operate normally, leaving Bitcoin holders able to send assets into its global platform without an available crypto withdrawal route out.
The exchange's Oct. 30 security update estimates the incident's total impact at around $6 billion. For a holder who wants Bitcoin in a personal wallet or on another venue, an exchange balance and a completed blockchain transfer are different outcomes.
Binance News reports an expectation that withdrawals will resume within 48 hours as the exchange overhauls the withdrawal service and related addresses. CryptoSlate's Oct. 30 report describes Binance's latest update as estimating resumption in 45 hours. These are reported restoration estimates; neither establishes a precise verified reopening time.
If the pause continues into the weekend, holders will face price changes while their outgoing transfer route remains closed. Their ability to respond depends on which services their own account can use.
Binance Japan’s initial Oct. 30 notice showed how trading and transfer permissions could diverge. It said trading remained available while deposits and withdrawals of all crypto assets were temporarily suspended. The regional business reported no confirmed impact on its customer assets.
Where trading remains available, a customer may be able to sell Bitcoin or change the asset held in an exchange account. That changes market exposure; it does not, by itself, put assets into an external wallet.
Binance Japan subsequently reported normal crypto deposits, trading and fiat movements, while crypto withdrawals remained paused.
