Top-down tactical shooter Polystrike announces roadmap and 2028 release date | exclusive

Developed by the Poland-based game studio Robin Entertainment, Polystrike is a tactical shooter game with a unique top-down perspective that Counter-Strike co-creator Minh Le described as “CS mixed with Dota.” Robin Entertainment announced Polystrike on August 17; today, October 12, the studio is revealing more details about the upcoming release, including an official roadmap and a planned release date of October 2, 2028.

Robin Entertainment co-founder Mark Mocherad told GamesBeat that the purpose of Polystrike’s relatively long development timeline is to ensure the final product is as polished as possible, with the goal of releasing a complete premium game, rather than asking players to pay for an unfinished product or building the experience around monetization. At the moment, Robin Entertainment employs a core team of 11 developers, with about 26 part-time and volunteer support staff. Mocherad is primarily bootstrapping the production in partnership with his co-founder Roman Lozynsky and Polystrike lead animator Yurii Harazha, who is working on the project while serving as a soldier in the Ukrainian army.

“Right now, we have PvP. It’s working — we don’t have lag, we don’t have crashes, everything is polished,” Mocherad said in an interview with GamesBeat. “We also want to add PvE content, so this game will not just be the PvP battle area, but we also want to unite people who like campaign, missions, lore, and everything else.”

Polystrike’s roadmap includes both in-game and out-of-game updates. In the fourth quarter of 2026, Robin Entertainment plans to build out a Japan-themed map, begin closed playtests, and develop an interactive in-game buy menu; throughout 2027, it will continue to fill the game with location-based maps based on Brazil and Ukraine, in addition to hosting a LAN event and launching a Kickstarter campaign in the second quarter of the year.
