The Golden Joysticks Announces Its Game of the Year Nominees

The Golden Joystick Awards have officially announced their Ultimate Game of the Year nominees for 2026. A total of 12 games have made the list this year, including hugely popular titles like Resident Evil Requiem, 007 First Light, and Pokemon Pokopia.

Launched all the way back in 1983, the Golden Joystick Awards stands apart from fellow award ceremonies by focusing solely on public voting. Every year, gamers can vote for their favorite games in a wide range of categories, with the only restriction being that they needed to have released within the last 12 months. This year's Golden Joysticks Ultimate Game of the Year category is particularly stacked with deserving nominees, making it very difficult to predict a winner. And while commercially successful games like Resident Evil Requiem are sure to bring in plenty of votes, there's certainly no guarantee that financial success will swing the vote here.

A pair of classic Resident Evil games are now playable for free, bringing two long-neglected entries back into the spotlight.

To vote in this year's Golden Joystick Awards , fans simply need to head over to GamesRadar+'s Golden Joysticks page and begin voting on what they think should win the 2026 Ultimate Game of the Year award. Voting will close on Friday, October 30, and fans will be able to watch the ceremony unfold live on November 11. The other 21 categories that will feature in this year's Golden Joysticks ceremony have already had their nominees announced and voted on.
