It's been nearly a decade since EA's Star Wars Battlefront 2 launched , and despite its highly controversial release, the post-mortem love for the cinematic sci-fi shooter remains as strong as ever. Although past updates about the possibility of a new Battlefront game have been more than a little bleak, a recent gaming rumor suggests there is new hope for another entry in the series.

First shared by Com_Raven on Reddit, Jeff Grub from the Game Mess Mornings recently shared an exclusive that Disney is seemingly interested in investing in a new Battlefront 3 game and is currently in talks with both Bungie and DICE to decide who will develop the project.
