Solo Leveling Season 3 Could Be Cancelled, Report Says

Solo Leveling has globally become the most popular story of South Korean origin. A lot of this success can be attributed to its 2024 anime adaptation by Japanese studios Aniplex and A-1 Pictures. Solo Leveling's name is already known all around the world by anime fans, but this popularity is going to explode even further soon enough. This is primarily because of its upcoming movie, titled Solo Leveling: Beyond the System.

Solo Leveling: Beyond the System is guaranteed to be a huge hit, and with its success, we will likely see a new era of the franchise finally being ushered in, which could potentially see the traditional TV anime being replaced entirely by movie releases. According to various rumors, Solo Leveling Season 3 could potentially not happen at all, and it is entirely possible for the franchise to simply adapt the movie approach instead, especially as the story itself is quite short, and what's more, with Crunchyroll titling the new movie itself as the “third season.”

Solo Leveling released its second anime season between January and March 2025. Since its 13th episode, which also happened to be the last, we have had no new Solo Leveling anime content to enjoy. At the very least, we now know what the studios behind this hit series, Aniplex and A-1 Pictures, have in store for us. During Anime Expo 2026, which unfolded on July 4, we learned that the next step for Solo Leveling is a theatrical movie release, officially titled Solo Leveling: Beyond the System .
