Chugong, the creator of Solo Leveling, originally ended this captivating story in 2018 when he released the final chapter of the web novel. Solo Leveling's legacy, however, grew far bigger and beyond the novel. In 2018, its Manhwa adaptation by Redice Studio began, and in 2024, Solo Leveling was finally turned into an anime by Aniplex and A-1 Pictures.
While the Manhwa and anime have only readapted the already existing story of the novel, adding minimal new content, a new video game known as Solo Leveling: Karma is here to expand the lore as a whole. In Solo Leveling: Karma, we are set to explore a brand-new arc never seen before, known as the 27-Year Monarch War. While many initially thought this arc would be a non-canon invention by Netmarble Studio, Chugong’s involvement in the project has been confirmed, cementing it as Solo Leveling's newest canon arc since 2018. In this new release, we will see Jinwoo grow drastically in strength, developing new abilities along the way, and rising up to new challenges.
Eight years ago, in 2018, the Solo Leveling novel officially ended. After Jinwoo defeated Antares, the epilogue of the story began. Sadly, back then, the epilogue was kept quite brief. Chugong, the original creator, only revealed tidbits of what happened to Jinwoo, which include his time travel to the past and his new journey to kill the Monarchs once more. This epilogue has largely been unsatisfying to fans who wanted to see Jinwoo undertake a new journey to become the strongest once more and save everyone dear to him.
