Save $40 Off Microsoft's Professional-Grade Xbox Elite Series 2 Core Wireless Controller

Do you prefer PlayStation or Xbox controllers? I'm in the latter camp. My favorite PC controllers have always been modeled after Xbox's tried and true asymmetrical layout. And when it comes to Xbox controllers, you can't get much better than the highest end model from Microsoft itself. For a limited time, Amazon is offering the professional-grade Xbox Series X Elite Series 2 Core Wireless Controller for $109.99 with free shipping. It's currently $150 everywhere else.

The Elite Series 2 Core is the official premium controller for Xbox. The Core model is physically identical to the previous generation $200 Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, with integrated pro gaming features like adjustable-tension thumbsticks, wrap-around rubberized grip, and shorter hair trigger locks. The only difference is that the original Elite controller comes with more accessories: extra sets of paddles, thumbsticks, D-pad, and a travel case. The Elite Series 2 Core doesn't come with any of those accessories. You can buy them separately as a component pack for $59.99.

IGN's Jacqueline Thomas reported on rumored leaks that the Elite Series 3 release might be on the horizon. I'm not very optimistic, however, that the launch price will be the same as the Xbox Series 2 controller when it first released at $179.99. Given that the price of the Elite Series 2 with component pack is $200, I expect the same price or higher.
