The Sun God Nika is a legendary, mythical entity that was first mentioned in the One Piece world during Jinbe's battle against Who's Who. When Luffy awakened his Devil Fruit, the Sun God Nika's lore was expanded upon tremendously. Nika's importance has only grown in the final saga, especially as the Elbaf arc has been tackled.

Now, it has been confirmed that the world of One Piece has seen the reveal of various different Nikas over the years, and all of them hold tremendous strength in their own way. While many mistakenly believe Luffy to be the only Nika, there are many others who hold this power, and some who use it even better than him.

Dark Nika was first seen in the Elbaf arc after Killingham used the power of his Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Kirin, to bring to life the nightmares of the children of Elbaf. The essence of Dark Nika comes from the Harley itself. It has been stated in the Harley that every time the world of One Piece has been destroyed, Nika is directly involved in this destruction. As such, many in Elbaf believe Nika to be a God of Destruction.

Naturally, the god of destruction paints quite an evil picture in the minds of many children, and when their nightmares were brought to life, the Dark Nika came to life as well. Dark Nika was seen wreaking havoc all across Elbaf before it was put to bed by the many powerful members of the Giant Pirates.
