OG Grand Theft Auto Easter Egg Spotted In GTA 6

Eagle-eyed Grand Theft Auto 6 fans have spotted a nod to the game that started it all in the new launch trailer, and it could even explain Jason and Lucia’s history.

Although the GTA 6 launch trailer that Rockstar dropped earlier this week was one of the shortest we’ve had since it was first revealed, it was still a flashy showing that teased plenty of what Leonida has in store for us. It also gave us a little bit more information about Jason’s backstory, confirming that he left the army on bad terms.

We know a good bit about Lucia’s history, but Jason is a bit of an enigma who Rockstar has stayed pretty quiet about. That made it a nice surprise to get any more information about him, and it turns out that might not be all, as the trailer also included an easy-to-miss easter egg that could have some importance.

As pointed out by Twitter user dash_GTA, the scene in the launch trailer that shows Jason and Lucia messing around on the hood of a car has an easter egg that only series veterans will get. If you look closely at Jason’s shirt, you can see that it’s from a combat training school in North Fort Law, which is a district from the original GTA’s New Guernsey.

You can hopefully guess that New Guernsey is based on New Jersey.

Exactly how realistic is Rockstar's long-awaited Grand Theft Auto 6 going to be?

Beyond it honestly being a bit of a shock to see Rockstar openly acknowledge the original GTA games instead of pretending the series started with GTA 3, the shirt could clue us in to Jason and Lucia’s relationship.
