A new report claims that Nvidia may be pivoting away from production of its GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card in favor of workstation GPUs for AI-based data centers and enterprise customers. As of this writing, the Nvidia RTX 5090 is the most powerful consumer graphics card on the market and the flagship GPU that utilizes the company's Blackwell architecture.
The Nvidia RTX 5090 has a staggering 32GB of GDDR7 video memory, which is currently the highest amount of dedicated VRAM among GPUs available on the PC gaming market. The RTX 5090 includes a boost clock speed of 2.41 GHz, making it easily capable of running games at a resolution of 4K while maintaining high frame rates. Although it initially launched with an MSRP of $1,999, the price of the RTX 5090 has drastically increased by several thousand dollars due to the ongoing DRAM shortage crisis affecting the global economy. As of this writing, the cheapest RTX 5090 is a third-party listing on Amazon, starting at $7,175.
The first official weekend for Gears of War: E-Day was heavily impacted by a DDoS attack, as The Coalition confirms the details and offering clarity.
Given that the RTX 5090 has become scarce as gamers and enterprise customers fight for any remaining inventory, two sources stated that the flagship Blackwell GPU may soon become a rarer commodity. On Twitter, insiders hongxing2020 and MEGAsizeGPU both claimed that the RTX 5090 has been labeled as "end of life" by the company. Additionally, all remaining supplies of the GB202 chip that powers the RTX 5090 are reportedly going to be used exclusively with RTX Pro graphics cards for enterprise and AI data center usage moving forward.
