Nothing’s Android 17 rollout is officially underway

TL;DR Nothing has started rolling out the stable Nothing OS 5.0 update to the Phone 3, making it the company’s first phone to receive Android 17.

The update adds a redesigned Launcher, split Quick Settings and notifications, new widgets, camera upgrades, deeper customization, and several Android 17 features.

The rollout is staggered, so availability will vary by region and device.

Nothing laid out a pretty clear Android 17 roadmap when it unveiled Nothing OS 5.0 in August. The Phone 3 would lead the charge with an Open Beta, while the stable release was penciled in for mid-October. Right on cue, the company is now making good on that promise, with the Phone 3 becoming the first Nothing handset to receive the stable Nothing OS 5.0 update.

Nothing says the general release is now rolling out to Phone 3 users, although it is being distributed in stages, so availability will vary by region and device. You can check manually by heading to Settings > System > System update . The update weighs 2.84GB for non-beta users, while beta users see a roughly 1.68GB download, according to rollout screenshots circulating on social media.
