A brand-new Nintendo Switch Online update has just been released, adding a total of three new Game Boy games to the Classics library. These three Switch Online Game Boy games, Avenging Spirit, Mole Mania, and Pinball: Revenge of the 'Gator, were all originally released in the 1990s.
The Nintendo Switch Online Classics library has grown significantly since its launch in September 2018. What began as a rather small but respectable collection of 20 Nintendo Entertainment System games has turned into an expansive service that offers SNES, Game Boy, and Game Boy Color games, and for an additional fee, Nintendo 64, SEGA Genesis, Game Boy Advance, GameCube, and Virtual Boy titles.
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort became the first game I ever played with one of my kids, turning a simple party game into an unforgettable milestone.
The Nintendo Switch Online Classics library goes from 392 games to 395 today as three more Game Boy titles join the service. The first of these is Avenging Spirit . Originally released in Japan in May 1991 under the name Phantasm , Avenging Spirit came to the US just five months later, arriving as an arcade game first. Avenging Spirit then received a Game Boy port in late 1992. Avenging Spirit is an action platformer that sees players controlling a ghost who's on a quest to save his living girlfriend from the sinister crime syndicate that gunned him down. As a ghost, players can possess four playable characters, each one equipped with unique abilities.
