New Turn-Based RPGs Basically Confirmed For 2027

2026 has been an incredible year for gaming, but turn-based RPG fans have been eating especially well. From Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined to Mewgenics, there's been no shortage of tactical and strategic games, but now feels like the perfect time to look ahead to 2027 and prepare for what it has in store.

There are already plenty of confirmed big names, like Persona 4: Golden and Eternal Animal. However, there are also many other turn-based RPGs that might not have confirmed 2027 release dates yet, but are still almost guaranteed to drop in the next 12 months or so. There are long-awaited sequels, crazy spin-offs, and a couple of newcomers that could shake up the genre in a big way, and although they are still a while away, there's no reason why you can't get excited right now.

Did you miss these turn-based RPGs? Explore indie CRPGs, grotesque roguelikes, and a hidden 60-hour JRPG inside UFO 50.

Scourge of the Reptiles takes you to a setting left largely untouched by turn-based RPGs. Rather than fighting with and against dragons and other fantasy creatures, you are surrounded by prehistoric animals of all kinds. It quickly becomes clear that your enemies are acting with more than just their primal instinct.

In terms of combat, there is so much room for strategy. You command your party of warriors and dinos using a variety of skills and abilities that only grow stronger as you progress. From there, you are free to explore and progress the campaign however you choose to.
