Masashi Kishimoto Makes Naruto Weaker Than Sasuke Permanently

Naruto and Sasuke are two of the most important characters in the magnum opus of Masashi Kishimoto, which began its run in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump on October 4, 1999. While Naruto had its own humble beginnings, it went on to become one of the most iconic stories all over the world. Even now, Naruto is one of the biggest anime franchises in the world, despite not having received a new release since the conclusion of its anime in March 2017.

The biggest reason for Naruto's success is the main duo of Naruto and Sasuke. Their rivalry and thirst for further power made the series as iconic as it is. At various times in the story, these two have tried to one-up the other to further their own goals. Now in Boruto, however, Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of the Naruto series, has made Naruto Uzumaki permanently weaker than Sasuke, which is unlikely to change anytime soon.

Throughout the run of the Naruto series, Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha engaged in various battles, and all of it culminated in their last fight in the Valley of the End, which ended in Naruto chapter 699 on November 24, 2014, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump issue 50. At this time, both Naruto and Sasuke were at the peak of their powers, having received Six Paths abilities from the Sage himself. While the Naruto series ended shortly after, the Boruto series carried on their legacy in a time period set over a decade after the conclusion of the Fourth Great Ninja War.
