Jujutsu Kaisen Officially Confirms New Story For Nobara

Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen manga ended way too early for a story of such grandeur. What's more, the world of Jujutsu Kaisen still had a lot of unexplored lore, which fans would've loved to see tackled. Luckily for us fans of the franchise, Gege Akutami, the original creator of Jujutsu Kaisen, returned in late 2025 with a short sequel, known as Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo.

Modulo is set 68 years after the Sukuna battle. As such, by the time of the sequel, most of the original cast has already passed away. We do, however, see the return of a few characters greatly aged up. While Yuji remains relatively young, thanks to his status as a slow-aging Death Painting, the same can’t be said about his old friend Nobara. Nobara Kugisaki still lives on in Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo as an old woman. Thanks to her brief return, we finally got a closer look at her new life. In this new sequel, we discover that Nobara remains single and is living in luxury in Kyoto. Nobara's story, sadly, will end with Modulo, and she will be one more friend that Yuji will have to see die very soon.

Nobara was one of the main characters who was introduced quite early on in Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen . She specifically made her first appearance in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 3, which was released on March 19, 2018, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #16. Upon her introduction, she became an integral part of JJK’s early arcs, and we quickly got to learn more about her story and how she got here in the first place.
