Japan's New My Hero Academia Replacement Is Officially Failing

My Hero Academia's end was definitely a sad event for the manga and anime industry alike. The manga for My Hero Academia first ended in 2024, and its anime followed suit not too long after in 2025. Fans have since been yearning for a new My Hero Academia replacement, and naturally so, given the sheer scale of the franchise. For Studio Bones, this replacement seemed to be Gachiakuta. However, popularity-wise, Gachiakuta fails to compare to its predecessor, My Hero Academia. This series could grow in popularity with the release of its second anime season, but as things stand, the gap between it and My Hero Academia continues to grow. In the future, we could potentially see the rise of a new generation of anime to actually carry on the legacy of Horikoshi, such as with Kagurabachi or Ichi the Witch.
