If you're in the market for a new Magic: The Gathering deck for your local game night, or for a hearty round of kitchen Commander, you can do little better than the Multiverse Reforged deck from Reality Fracture.
Wizards of the Coast kindly sent this deck to us to test, and I ran a variety of games against some of the year's best precons to see how it held up; the results speak for themselves.
So, whether you're on the fence about buying another deck or wondering whether this is a good starting point for players new to the format, our time with the deck will help answer any questions you may have.
To put the Multiverse Reforged deck through its paces, we set it up against some of the other best Commander precons of 2026, mainly Dance of the Elements, Avengers Assemble, Quandrix Unlimited, and Goblin Storm. This gave us a wide variety of deck archetypes and aggression levels to play against, and ultimately helped us find any inherent weaknesses.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the only deck that Multiverse Reforged consistently struggled against was Goblin Storm, which often raced ahead to an early lead and overwhelmed the much slower Polymorph deck.
Otherwise, Multiverse Reforged picked up wins in both 1v1 and four-player games quite easily, provided it had the right starting hand. It became clear early on that this deck needs to ramp early, and the best way to do that is to start with at least two lands and two mana artifacts .
