Just like in the 1998 original, there are twelve ocarina songs in the Ocarina of Time remake, plus one optional custom song. Although some are undoubtedly more useful than others, each of these iconic Zelda melodies has its uses, from changing the weather and time of day to teleporting Link to different parts of Hyrule.
These seven Zelda games come closest to perfection, with designs so strong there’s very little I’d want Nintendo to change.
You'll need to learn all 12 ocarina melodies in the Ocarina of Time remake as part of the main story, but the order in which you learn them will depend on the progression route you take. This guide has the button inputs for every song, as well as a melody player that you can play into your Switch 2 microphone to trigger the songs in-game.
In addition to the 12 standard songs in Ocarina of Time , you can also create your own melody called Scarecrow's Song . To do so, visit Bonooru the scarecrow at Lake Hylia as Child Link and play him a custom eight-note melody using at least two different notes. Return as Adult Link and play the same melody to activate the song. You can then play Scarecrow's Song at certain locations to summon Pierre, a scarecrow that Link can grapple onto with the Hookshot or Longshot to reach otherwise inaccessible areas. Unlike all of the other ocarina melodies in Ocarina of Time , Scarecrow's Song has no fixed button combination and doesn't appear in the standard song list.
