Bonooru, a scarecrow in Lake Hylia, is asking you to play him a catchy song that he can remember. This is the only song you can play on the ocarina that's entirely made by you, and it creates the Scarecrow's Song that you can use for certain puzzles. If you want to get your hands on the Scarecrow's Song, then look no further than the guide below. We'll show you where to find Bonooru and how to learn his Scarecrow Song in the Ocarina of Time remake.
Learn how to play all twelve ocarina songs in the Ocarina of Time remake and use our melody player to trigger them in-game.
When playing as Kid Link, head south from Hyrule Plains to reach Lake Hylia. You'll find Bonooru here, a scarecrow with a green scarf. Approach Bonooru and equip the ocarina, and he will ask you to play a song with 8 notes (8 button presses). These buttons can be anything, but they cannot be a pre-made song (which you can find in the list above).
You need to memorize the song you teach Bonooru, so make sure it's something simple. For me, I repeated two buttons: R + A + R + A + R + A + R + A. However, this song can be anything, so feel free to make it up!
You won't be able to learn the Scarecrow's Song until you are playing as Adult Link , which is after you get the Master Sword.
