How to Dispel the Blackdog Aura in Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen (Howl in the Dark Quest)

Blackdogs are small, boss-level beasts introduced in Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen that are protected by an aura of darkness. They are immune to all damage when they're coated by this aura, and in order to dispel it, you need to either hit them with Holy damage, or bait them into entering an Anodyne healing bubble.

Beating a Blackdog is required for the Howl in the Dark side quest for one of the Vermundian commission's soldiers. If you want to scratch this mission off your list in DD2: Dark Arisen, here's what you need to do.

Pawns in Dragon's Dogma 2 can be specialized using tomes. However, not all options are equally useful. Here's what's good to pick.

Morgus, one of the soldiers in the Vermundian research commission, will approach you with a request about his missing amulet after you pave the way to the Northwall Campground. He'll tell you that he was attacked by a beast at night, but he wasn't able to identify what manner of monster attacked him. Your job is to go to where he was attacked and try to retrieve Morgus' lost amulet.

For this quest, you need to go to the northeastern part of the Norgan Snowfield . There's a destroyed hut some distance east of the Magic Archer Obelisk , and around that area, a Blackdog will appear. These monsters only appear at night , but thankfully, the ruined hut has a bench inside, which you can use to pass the time .
