You need to defeat some enemies and two bosses to get out safely and complete the Penumbral Escape quest.

To trigger the Penumbral Escape quest in Genshin Impact, you need to complete the Awake and Sing, Ye Sleepers in the Dust quest after finishing The Citadel of the Ancient Fae quest. Once both are done, touching the Strange Crystal Core teleports Travelers to the Shadow Realm.

To complete the Penumbral Escape quest in Genshin Impact, you must do the following:

Along the cart ride, enemies will spawn on the left and right tracks, and you need to defeat them as you move forward using the different Firearms you have. Next, you’ll need to:

Proceed ahead to find the Shadow-Tarnished Glacial Knight. He has an ice shield, so keep shooting the boss until the shield is gone. Once the Glacial Knight's shield is broken, it will freeze in place, spawning another enemy that you need to reach and defeat to continue the battle.

Once it is destroyed, you’ll be teleported out of the Shadow Realm in Genshin Impact. Talk to Koshkin once you’re out to complete the Penumbral Escape quest.
