In a surprising turn of events, the popular fast food chain Wendy's has released an official pixelated RPG of its own, which takes heavy inspiration from classic turn-based JRPGs like Final Fantasy for its gameplay loop. Offered completely free on either Mobile or Steam, the WendyQuest RPG has about 10–15 hours of gameplay to offer.

While the charming art style and hardware requirements that could run on a "baked potato" according to its Steam page are already tempting, the real incentive for playing comes from the fact that defeating bosses will grant coupons that will earn you free food in real life, albeit with a few limitations.

As shared by Dexerto on X, by progressing through the game and defeating bosses with the power of your ever-growing party, each boss you defeat will offer an item that offers "a chance to win a different IRL Wendy's item" through the use of the Wendy's App, with each boss offering the following rewards:

Each of the free food items can also only be claimed as a bonus alongside another purchase, meaning you'll have to spend at least some money in order to actually claim your free food. The real-world coupons are also notably on a first-come, first-served basis, and once they run out, you won't be able to collect them anymore.
