The official PC system requirements for Fable have been revealed, and Playground Games says players will be able to enter Albion with hardware as old as an RTX 2060. Recent gameplay previews have shown the depth and detail of Fable, featuring a jaw-dropping number of persistent NPCs, enterable buildings, businesses, and extensive relationship systems, all part of the game's open world.
Playground Games has spent years building technically impressive environments through the Forza Horizon series, but Fable presents a very different challenge as an open-world RPG. The game's Living Population system gives more than 1,000 handcrafted NPCs their own personalities and routines, while players can befriend them, antagonize them, employ them, or even marry them. Players can also enter every building and buy houses and businesses, giving fans the fantasy life-sim elements they have come to expect from the franchise. With so much happening beneath the surface, the relatively approachable Fable PC requirements may encourage players with aging hardware.
Jack of Blades makes an intriguing return in Fable, and new lore that has come to light could shake up his role in a major way.
At the lowest preset, Fable targets 1080p at 30 FPS with a Ryzen 5 2600 or Core i7-6850K alongside an RTX 2060, RTX 5050, RX 6600, or Intel Arc A580, with 12GB of RAM and 6GB of VRAM required. Medium settings target either 1440p at 30 FPS or 1200p at 60 FPS using an RTX 3060 Ti, RTX 5060, RX 6700 XT, or RX 9060 XT.
