Everything You Keep & Lose If You Die in MW4 DMZ

Modern Warfare 4 | DMZ is here, and with it comes the consequence of death. Each time you drop into Hajin and die, you will be forced back to the FOB with your active Operator now classed as "Missing in Action". If you want to avoid losing your progress (and loot), then you need to know what comes next when you die in DMZ.

Your DMZ Level is separate to your Modern Warfare 4 rank. Here's the level cap, how to get DMZ XP, and what you'll earn for each level up.

If you are killed in DMZ, either by another Operator or an AI-controlled hostile, then you will be sent back to the Field Operations Base. Here, you will be given an option to rescue the Operator you died as. Choosing to rescue an Operator costs DMZ Cash, and the cost increases with each Trait you obtain from leveling the Dog Tags.

When you rescue a Missing in Action Operator, you will restore their Traits, Trait Points, and their Dog Tags. This means you won't lose progress toward Prestige. However, you will lose everything that was in your Loadout and your Pack, unless you had a Reserve Slot to keep one item safe upon death.

The more Trait Points you obtain, the more pricey it will be to rescue your Operators, so make sure you have plenty of DMZ Cash ready, as you never know who you might encounter in Hajin next.

If you decide not to rescue your Operator, then you can click Manage and dismiss them.
