Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Shipment Release Date Officially Confirmed

The fan-favorite Shipment multiplayer map will arrive in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 just a few days after the game's full release, according to a roadmap revealed by developer Infinity Ward on social media. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 is currently available in early access on all current-gen platforms.

Set in a shipping yard near Chernobyl, Ukraine, Shipment was first introduced in 2007's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Though it was initially created as a developer's testing ground, the compact map gained notoriety for its frantic, fast-paced action. Given that the other side of the map can be reached in just a few seconds, players can sometimes be gunned down right as they respawn in a match. While some Call of Duty players have expressed discontent with Shipment over the years, other players enjoy the map for its small size and support for multiple game modes.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 features a simple, but touching tribute to Vince Zampella, one of the defining voices in CoD and FPS history.

Though Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will fully launch at midnight Eastern on Friday, October 23, players will have to wait just a little longer to re-experience one of the Call of Duty series' most divisive maps. Shipment arrives in Modern Warfare 4 on Tuesday, October 27, according to a roadmap posted by Infinity Ward on social media ahead of early access. Though it will retain its notoriously small map size, Shipment will also support all Core and Hardcore game modes, such as Team Deathmatch and new modes like Collateral and Inflation.
