Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Patch Makes It Impossible to Get a Nuke in Free-for-All

A new patch for Modern Warfare 4 has players up in arms because it prevents you from getting a tactical nuke Killstreak in Free-for-All, one of the Multiplayer modes.

“We've made two adjustments to Free-for-All in #MW4,” developer Infinity Ward announced in a tweet, which included confirmation of a score reduction and a party size change. Now, you can only enter Free-For-All matches with one friend in your party. On top of that, the score required to win a Free-For-All match has been reduced to 25 kills. It was previously 30 kills.

Players are upset because this change locks them out of 100% completing the game. A Calling Card called Ground Zero requires players to earn a tactical nuke in a Free-For-All match, but the new score cap prevents this from being possible, since you need to earn 30 consecutive kills without dying to get a nuke.

There’s no word on whether Activision and Infinity Ward plan to reduce the requirement for a nuke in Free-For-All or change the Calling Card to something that’s, you know, possible.

These changes come to the game after an uptick in account boosting in Free-For-All. Players who wanted to earn the Ground Zero Calling Card were coming in with three friends and farming each other to earn the nuke, essentially ruining the game for everyone else.

Obviously, these changes should put an end to that, but it’s annoying for players who wanted to play Free-For-All legitimately with their friends, or earn the Calling Card the right way.
