Sasuke Uchiha is one of the few unfortunate shinobi in Boruto who has lost his frontliner role on the battlefield. Instead of facing powerful enemies head-on like he used to in the original Naruto series, he now takes on a more underwhelming role as a first-class ninja who needs saving from the next generation of shinobi.

Sasuke is powerful. He became the strongest Uchiha in history in Naruto.

Since Sasuke lost access to his Rinnegan, his power level has dwindled considerably. As a result, plenty of characters in Boruto can now reach his level of strength and compete with him. In other words, these characters are almost as strong as Sasuke now, despite once being far weaker than the legendary Uchiha.

Orochimaru and Sasuke share a long and complicated history, giving them an intimate understanding of each other's powers and abilities. Although Orochimaru has embraced a much more peaceful and quiet life in Boruto , the legendary Sannin could still put up a serious fight against Sasuke at his current strength.
