‘Avengers: Endgame’s Most Iconic Battle Is Officially Coming to 'Marvel Rivals'

Later this month, Marvel Rivals is getting a massive 50 player mode where you battle Thanos.

In the run-up to Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel Rivals has been doing an impressive number of tie-in events, but a new mode revealed today may be the most exciting yet. On Oct. 22, Rivals is getting Path to Doomsday – Avengers: Endgame, a PvE experience where a whopping 50 players team up to battle Thanos and his minions.

While Marvel Rivals has previously featured PvE events, like its four-player Halloween-themed Zombie Mode, the upcoming one will be much larger in scale. The game’s creative director, Guangyun Chen (aka, Gaungguang), explained that the mode will take place in the ruins of the Avengers Compound as 50 players face Thanos and his army head-on. Gaungguang implies that the battle will recreate certain iconic moments from the films, such as Thanos’ “I am inevitable” line.

While it seems Thanos won’t be a playable character anytime soon, Rivals has been better about adding villains lately, with its last two new characters being The Hood and Gorr the God Butcher.

The latest Dev Vision video also revealed other content coming to Marvel Rivals in Season 10.5. On Oct. 9, we'll get the Avengers: Infinity War mode. It's a two versus two event where duos draft upgrades for their characters while trying to snatch opposing teams' Infinity Stones, which offer powerful abilities.

In keeping with the season, the game is also getting some Halloween-focused skins on Oct. 15 for Devil Dino, Elsa, Blade, Deadpool, and more alongside the All Hallows Glow event.
