Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Update 1.8.0 Adds NG+

Ubisoft has just rolled out a brand-new update for Assassin's Creed Valhalla nearly six years after launch, but it's not routine maintenance this time. NG+ is available right now for free, along with a bunch of new features to welcome players back to the shores of England.

Title update 1.8.0—or, as Ubisoft puts it, "the most requested update"—introduces NG+, but Naoe's master assassin outfit, extra upgrades, the Stash, new achievements, PSSR 2 support, and updates to the Rune Forge.

NG+ is obviously the headline, and it can be accessed right now by completing the Holy Day Quest in the Hamtunscire region.

"This is before the true ending of the game but since it is a very big game, we've decided to allow you to start NG a little bit earlier," Ubisoft explained. "Each iteration of NG+ will get progressively harder, offering new challenges to players who want to revisit the Viking Age again and again."

Ubisoft previously claimed in 2022 that Valhalla wouldn't get a NG+ update.

If you acquire a piece of gear or interact with a book of knowledge you have already read in NG+, you will instead be granted Mithril, a new resource added in update 1.8.0. Looting Carbon, Nickel, and Tungsten in a Wealth Chest will award you Platinum instead, previously a Dawn of Ragnarök exclusive material.

With NG+ extending the shelf life of Eivor's adventure, Ubisoft has also increased the maximum level of Divine Gear from 13 to 27 to accommodate, which is where the new Mithril resource comes in.
