Assassin's Creed Valhalla Is Getting New Game+ 6 Years After Release

Assassin's Creed Valhalla launched all the way back in November 2020, but Ubisoft just announced that it's getting its own new game+ mode.

In a blog post, Ubisoft laid out some of its future plans for Assassin's Creed. One of them is a tiny, yet cryptic, update on Assassin's Creed: Codename Hexe. It also announced new game+ mode for Valhalla a mere six years after it first hit consoles.

The new game mode will be coming on November 5, and will include a new, optional progression mode, along with new runes, achievements and a stash system. Ubisoft will also be adding a new crafting material, Mithril, which can be used to upgrade divine gear.

But on top of the NG+ mode, Ubisoft teased that Valhalla will be getting even more updates. In the post, Ubisoft says it will "share full details in the upcoming Patch Notes, along with news regarding current-generation console updates in the coming days." It's not clear what Ubisoft means by "current-generation console updates," but I'd bet on a nice little graphics boost.

While Valhalla does have a PS5 and Xbox Series version, the game hasn't received a PS5 Pro Enhanced glow-up, so I'd guess that's what Ubisoft meant by console updates. But even outside of the Pro, in the years since Valhalla came out, every console has been updated with better upscaling, whether that's QSSR on the base PS5 or FSR 4.1 on the Xbox Series consoles.

Assassin's Creed was well received at launch. When IGN reviewed it, we gave it an 8, with reviewer Brandin Tyrrel saying, "Assassin's Creed Valhalla is a massive, beautiful open-world fueled by brutal living and the dirty work of conquerors.
