'An Unheard Farewell' quest walkthrough in Valor Mortis

"An Unheard Farewell" is a Valor Mortis side quest that asks you to help a lonely Adjudant. His squad is supposedly scouting the area, but, unsurprisingly, they haven't returned. As the poor Adjudant is too scared to look for his comrades himself, the task falls to William.

Here's how to start this quest and how to help the Adjudant in "An Unheard Farewell" in Valor Mortis.

"An Unheard Farewell" is a Chapter 2 side quest in Valor Mortis. After defeating the grenadier, but before descending the large, broken bridge, you'll walk past a wagon with an Adjudant Sous-Officer inside. He'll be yelling at you, so you're unlikely to miss him.

Once you've unlocked the Demolished Path lantern near the wagon, you must follow the path leading down the broken bridge. Jump from platform to platform until you can descend no further, then pass through the small wagon on the left (where you'll receive the pistol weapon).

At the next lantern, climb the rocks and shoot the glowing orb to unlock the elevator.

Take the elevator upward as far as possible (the highest level is blocked) and pass through the tunnel on your right. Once you've fought your way through the caves, you must complete a small parkour section outside before reaching the purple glob that's blocking the elevator. Like before, shoot the glowing orbs (there are two of them this time).

Now that the elevator is fully unlocked, you could go upward and continue the main path — but then you would miss the "An Unheard Farewell" quest objective.
