A Famous GTA 4 Meme Is Now a Mechanic in GTA 6

GTA 6 has named one of its biggest mechanics after a beloved GTA 4 meme.

In 2008, a Justin.tv channel (now known as Twitch) by the name of FourPlayerPodcast made GTA history. One of the hosts of the channel, Brad Simons, rode a moped around GTA 4's Liberty City. He eventually found another moped rider and began comically declaring them "scooter brothers." The video has over 7.5 million views on YouTube, and now it's part of GTA 6.

In a new preview from Edge magazine, it was confirmed that players will be able to summon their vehicle using an app called Scooter Brothers. An NPC will deliver your car and then get on a scooter (presumably driven by another "brother") and drive off. Whether or not these so-called scooter brothers will have their own silly lines to honor their origins remains to be seen.

In GTA 5, when switching to Trevor, players would have a chance of seeing the wily character recreating the meme with a frightened NPC. It was a pretty great nod, and now, Rockstar is keeping the tradition alive, though this time with more purpose.

GTA Online has had a mechanic to let you call your car since launch, and Red Dead Redemption also allows you to summon your horse if it's within a reasonable distance. However, this is the first time players will be able to do something like this without cheats in GTA's single-player. It's arguably more necessary than ever, too, as the player's arsenal of weapons and some other important gear is stored in the trunk of their vehicle.
