With confirmation that every Magic: The Gathering set in 2027 will include at least four Commander precon decks, we're taking a look at what we know so far about the decks coming out alongside Marvel: Darkhold Destiny.

This set is already generating quite a bit of buzz, largely because the story and main character are brand-new and designed to be at the center of this Magic: The Gathering set. In short, we're not cramming Marvel and Magic together this time, regardless of the final product's quality; we're building Marvel around Magic, and the synergy already looks strong from the small samples we've seen so far.

On the Commander precons, we know very little so far, but as always, we can discern quite a bit from the packaging alone, and we already know when these decks will be available and how much they'll cost at MSRP.

All four Marvel: Darkhold Destiny Commander precons will be available starting Friday, April 9, 2027. This is the full release date for the set, but you may be able to pick these decks up one week earlier, starting Friday, April 2, 2027, if you pre-order them from your local game store and attend a prerelease event.

It all comes down to your relationship with your local game store, but more often than not, they are fine selling product once the pre-release date comes around, provided you have a pre-order, or they know they have plenty of stock.
