007 First Light finally has a release date on Nintendo Switch 2, and the game will be released nearly a year after it arrived on previous platforms. Debuting on PS5, PC, and Xbox earlier this year, 007 First Light features a version of James Bond early in his career as an MI6 agent. Developed by IO Interactive, the game abandoned the first-person perspective seen in the majority of Bond games, focusing instead on third-person action and adventure.
007 First Light was well-received upon release, and it quickly proved to be a commercial success, as well. The game has already sold more than 4 million copies worldwide, and that number should see a boost once the Nintendo Switch 2 version is available. The original Switch often struggled to run big AAA games, and those that did arrive on the system often saw major compromises. The Switch 2 era has been a stark contrast, as major games like Resident Evil Requiem have been released on the system on day one. Publishers are making Nintendo's system a bigger priority, though games like 007 First Light and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight have needed some extra development time.
IO Interactive has rolled out one of 007 First Light's biggest updates yet, with major free additions, replayability features, and hundreds of fixes.
007 First Light was delayed several times on Switch 2 , but the game now has a release date of March 18, 2027 . IO Interactive has also revealed a pre-order bonus for the game, in the form of the GoldenEye Suit.
