Harajuku Tokyo Café, the Japanese food and beverage business operating Harajuku Tokyo Café and Harajuku Bakehouse, has raised $3 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Zero W.
Existing seed investors Indian Angel Network (IAN) and Samved VC participated in the round with follow-on investments. New investors include Blume Founders Fund, Brijesh Parekh Family Office, Rahul Jain, co-founder of Epigamia, and others.
The company had previously raised $2 million (Rs 19 crore) in a seed funding round co-led by IAN and Samved VC in August 2025, with participation from LetsVenture and venture debt fund Capitar Ventures.
The proceeds will be used to fund the next phase of growth. The company aims to achieve Rs 100 crore in revenue in the current financial year, Harajuku Tokyo Café said in a press release.
Founded in 2021 by Gaurav Kanwar, Harajuku operates two food and beverage concepts across Delhi NCR and Mumbai. Harajuku Tokyo Café is a full-service dining format featuring conveyor-belt sushi and Tokyo-inspired interiors.
Harajuku Bakehouse is a quick-service format offering Japanese breads, desserts and savoury snacks. The company has developed its menu and operating platform with chefs Asami Indo and Higuchi Nariaki to support expansion and introduce contemporary Japanese food to Indian consumers.
Over the next two quarters, Harajuku plans to open 10 outlets across new neighbourhoods in Delhi NCR and Mumbai. It also plans to enter Bengaluru and Chandigarh. The company aims to operationalise central kitchens in Mumbai and Bengaluru by December 2026. These facilities will supply Harajuku Bakehouse outlets and support the production of its packaged food range for western and southern India.
